Until the 1960,s Mijas was a small farming village,  but due to the building boom on the coast, the farmers realized they could earn more money on the building sites.

Tourists were already visiting this typical Andalusian village & the redundant farm workers (donkeys) were licensed & made into taxis – still there today.

The village boasts a square bull ring, the most photographed street in the world & many craft & jewelry shops.

Apart from the wonderful views of the coast, on a clear day, one can see north Africa.

The Carihuela is the old fisherman’s quarter of Torremolinos, where most of the original fisherman’s houses have been converted into restaurants.

One of the most popular dishes,  is oven cooked «sea bass», prepared in a thick coat of rock salt – the speciality of the area.

Why not visit Mijas, with free time to explore – then a delicious dinner of various dishes of the local «catch of the day»& salads, followed by «sea bass», unlimited local wines, beer or soft drink, dessert & coffee.

This takes place on Tuesday’s

A similar excursion can be offered with Marbella, Puerto Banus & dinner in a beach front restaurant in San Pedro.
